Must possess a good understanding of the fundamentals of machine design including:
- Stress analysis
- Metallurgy and the characteristics of commonly used alloy steels
- Welding and assembly processes
- Machining processes
- Bearing types and their application
- Gear design
- Rotating shaft design
- Mechanical drive components such as gear reducers, clutches, brakes and couplings
Must be willing to assume roles of team leader and team member when necessary and possess good communication skills. Practical experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. Preferred Qualifications: Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering.
